Dolores and Jeff English

Jewelry is in the English family blood. It began with Jeff’s grandmother.
She was raised in the diamond fields of Kimberley, South Africa in the 1870’s
where they lived in tents before there were any wooden buildings. At 16 she
boarded a ship to Europe. She married and emmigrated to the USA in 1906.

In 1971 Jeff’s brother purchased Ocino, a fine jewelry store in the
financial district in New York City, one block from Wall Street.

In 1972 Jeff married Dolores and they started English Associates after
meeting Ralph Destino, the wholesale President for Cartier Fine Jewelry.
Mr. Destino became Jeff's mentor, hiring him as showroom manager in
New York City, and later giving Jeff his first sales territory for Cartier in
upstate New York. A few years later Dolores and Jeff moved to Atlanta
when Mr. Destino assigned Jeff the five state Southeast territory.

After several years with Cartier, Jeff and Dolores moved to Dallas for
Citra Trading Inc, the largest importer of Italian gold jewelry in the US,
one of the largest diamond dealers in the country, and also one of the
world's largest pearl dealers. Jeff represented all three divisions.

Today Dolores and Jeff operate JD English Jewelers at their Dallas showroom.
They visit Asia to buy the finest pearls directly from pearl farmers. They design,
import, and manufacture fine diamond, precious stone, and pearl jewelry,
creating fabulous items for their discerning customers as well as for
fine jewelry stores throughout the Southwest.
